Legends of Rythoria: Sign-Ups and Discussion

Post by Tregon on Thu Mar 05, 2009 5:48 pm

Long ago, in the land of Rythoria, everything was in chaos. Dark portals were opening around towns, allowing armies of armoured demons to storm the towns. The citizens bravely fought back, but all of the towns were defeated. Refugees from the destroyed towns and villages gathered in the capital city, Babrak; Rythoria's last standing city. The people of each race elected the best of their race to serve Rythoria. The humans elected Thorn, a paladin. The dwarves voted for Regdarin, a hunter. The gnomes, Riknah, a warlock. The dark elves chose Olplyn, a rogue. The orcs picked Rak'narin, a warrior. The high elves decided upon Vintagh, a mage. And lastly, the dragon-born sent Vistarana, a priest.

The party of elected heroes charged into the great portal, in order to find a way to close the portals from the inside. They ventured through the deep purple light, and into the demons' realm. They slowly moved through the eerie and dense forest, until they came upon a large, black tower.

It was then that they realized that they had yet to see any of the demons. They all agreed that they must have something big happening. They slowly crept through the doors of the tower, to the sight of a humongous gathering of demons, all 10,000 of them watching a large demon, who looked to be their leader. They watched silently, preparing to take them all on. Eventually, the leader saw them, and roared a command. All of the demons stood and charged at the heroes.

The heroes fought bravely, and effectively, but there was just too many demons. They were overwhelmed when Vistarana was tackled by a particularly large demon, breaking her concentration, and disrupting her holy shield spell. The demons took down the casters easily after that, as well as Olplyn. Regdarin's pet trifaler, Fang, was also torn apart. Thorn and Rak'narin stood in front of the dwarf, protecting him as he fired shots from his crossbow. Eventually, Rak'narin couldn't take the beatings of the demons any longer, and collapsed, exposing Regdarin to be killed as well.

Thorn disregarded all caution at that point, knowing that either he died and failed his land, or he closed the portals and had his name praised forever. He charged towards the demons' leader, ploughing through the mosh-pit of demons, with only the intention to avenge all who had died at the hands of the demons. He leaped through the air, and plunged his sword into the leader's chest, knocking him back into a glowing crystal. When the demon's body touched the crystal, the glow halted, and the crystal shattered. The realm rumbled, and the demons realized what was happening. They charged at Thorn, and the paladin ran faster than he'd ever before.

The citizens of Rythoria waited anxiously for their heroes' return. When the portals started to fold in on themselves, there was a deafening roar of excitement that was only broken when Vintagh's two year old son asked, "Where daddy?" The crowd fell silent. None of the heroes had returned. They watched the portal anxiously. They saw a silhouette in the portal... It was one of the heroes! The crowd cheered in excitement.

Thorn jumped at the closing portal, hoping to dive through. He passed through... Thin air. The portal had closed. He was trapped.

Now.

Rythoria is now in an age of prosperity. Crime is greatly down, and nothing major has happened since the portals were closed. The citizens praise the heroes who gave their lives, so that their land would be saved. That all happened 500 years ago. Everything is rebuilt, and the economy of Rythoria is thriving.

Recently, the emperor ordered all aspiring adventurers to come to the capital city, (Babrak,) for an important assignment. A hefty sum of gold was promised for quick arrival. Caravans are stationed at every town and city, awaiting adventurers. They all depart on Monday.

Name: Feren
Race: Half elf (if allowed, I would be human/high elf, if not just make me a high elf)
Class: Rouge/hunter
Appearance: A black hooded cloak hides Most of Feren's seemingly frail features. He stands about 6'2 with pointed ears and medium-length black hair. a pitch-black scar runs upwards from his left cheek through his left eye, and his left hand shows large numbers of deep red scars that run like a web, fortunately it's covered by a fingerless glove.
Personality: Feren holds three seperate personalities. This is not to say that he is insane... well... he is but thats not why he is split, although it ecxplains his paranoia. Instead, Feren is possessed by two distinct entities. The first- Ferendir, is The embodiment of all of the good inside of him. When controlled by this spirit, feren will be talkative, polite, and apologetic. Alternatively, A demon by the name of Fearen (the a and e should be toghether but this computer doesn't have that) is constantly trying to gain control of Feren's body to cause mayhem. When this demon is in control, Feren is ruthless, attacking any creatures on sight that oppose him. When not bieng controlled, Feren is known to have a dark disposition, and is somnewhat paranoid. He will speak in a polite, intelligent tone, often trapping others with their own words. This form of Feren enjoys mind games, and is known to be somewhat of a Sato-masicist. However, it is in his heart to do good, and he usually listens to Ferendir's advice when making important decisions. Only Feren's closest frineds know about the possessions.
Stats (65 points. Class dictates minimum for certain stats. No caps for stats.):
Strength: 13 (-3 high elf = 10)
Agility:15
Stamina: 15 (-1 high elf +1 human = 15)
Intelligence: 7 (+3 High elf= 10)
Spirit: 3 (+2 high elf = 5)
Dexterity: 10
Charisma: 2 (+1 human = 3)
